Many people have many different reasons on why a story is worth telling. Some people think a story is worth telling just because it was written; they believe stories are just to pass time so they will read anything. Others are more demanding, they like things that are exiting and have complex plot. The plot will usually have to be about characters going through a struggle, an innocent character having to make decisions, or a story that keeps the suspense going. If the book has great feats and battles then it becomes very exciting. The book must also keep its themes. For example, if the theme is that love is fickle then the main character will have to have major problems with their relationship. An interesting setting always helps readers enjoy and love the book.
In my opinion The Game of Thrones is most definitely worth telling.
It has one of the most interesting and complex plots i have ever read. While going through all the character's stories it covers all the basic kinds of plots. It has Honorable men making tough decisions and getting betrayed, it also has young innocent girls thrown into the harshness of war and battles. The authors decision to use a made up world is an excellent one. His own world allows him to create and have an unlimited world. If he needs a hard place for strong men, then he has the north. If he needs for celebration and easy living then he has the south. This book has many themes. While they are different, they still all intertwine. Honor, pride, family all stay on one side while they battle their enemies greed, betrayal, and revenge. More often then not, honor stays strong and helps the characters get through their lives. But, keeping with all good plots, betrayal always manages to stab them in the back. The constant threat and mystery keeps you on your toes the whole time while you are reading.
